Day 1 trek is complete 

The start of our trek at Machame Gate. In the clouds. Cam the Lion (our mascot) is on Andy’s rucksack.

We have reached Machame Camp at 3000m, having climbed 1200m from Machame Gate.

Machame Camp

Today’s trail was largely through rainforest, and, as the name suggests, we walked in cloud and rain! Hopefully we will breakout above the cloud tomorrow and finally see the top of Kili.
